Proctor Trivette
South of the James Productions was founded in 2009 and is located in the heart of Richmond, VA.
Proctor suggests that anyone who wants to get into the film business should find a mentor. “They’re invaluable.” He says. “Find someone who has years and years of experience and then ask a lot of questions. You’d be surprised what you can learn.”
Proctor studied film for two years at the University of the North Carolina Wilmington before transferring to Randolph-Macon College. Prior to attending Randolph-Macon, he directed, produced, and wrote a short film titled Nothing More to Lose. It was an eye opening experience, only strengthening his love and passion for the art of filmmaking.
Proctor currently lives in Richmond, VA with his wife, Christen, who has been his inspiration and biggest supporter. He continues to grow creatively and technically by working with talented individuals.
