And now on with the highlights of each month….

February 2010: After the November 2009 Veteran’s Day Parade I was asked by my friend Tony Bari if I would be interested in venturing up to NYC to edit the footage we shot of the parade at HBO’s Headquarters. I said absolutely and ventured up there and had a great time. I felt like I was on cloud nine or better a kid in a candy shop. There were suites of all kinds – editing, color correcting, audio, you name it. Thanks to Tony B and all the guys at the NYC Veteran’s office. Aside from my car getting towed, visiting the impound lot, and paying that all so wonderful NYC fee it was a great week in the big apple! Here are a few pics…

March 2010: I teamed up with long time friend David Stott, Match Productions, for a cookery webisode shoot in Connecticut titled The British Heritage Chef Introduces – Tower of London Toad in the Hole. I was the location sound mixer, rocking the sound. The set up: a Lectro SMa and Sanken lav on the talent while booming with the Sennheiser 8040 (a wonderful mic by the way). I’ll post audio samples at a later time. Everything looked and sounded great. Thanks to Match Productions, Richard Lovering (hope London is treating you well my friend), and Tessa Smith McGovern for a wonderful job!

April 2010: This month should have the tag line, “Proctor realized how out of shape he really was when he tried running with Dane Rauschenberg“. Every year Oddessy Relays holds an event where a team of runners take turns running a combined total of 202 miles. It starts in Gettysburg, PA and ends in downtown Washington, DC. That doesn’t sound too bad, right? This year Dane decides to run the entire 202 miles solo and wants to bring along a filmmaker to document his journey. I packed up my gear and embarked on an incredible adventure. Did I mention he did this 202 in 2 days!? Oh yea, it was awesome! Currently, I’m editing a short documentary with the working title, The 202: Dane’s Story, about his 2 day journey and the highs and lows of such an incredible run. Thanks so much Dane! Pictures coming soon.

May 2010: This was a busy month, which is always a great thing! I started working with a cameraman named Ed Reinsel, doing sound for his clients, including Wachovia / Wells Fargo. Being in the business for 25 years, Ed is very knowledgeable and it has been a pleasure working with him. During the second week of May, I was referred by my friend Tony Bari to a guy named Jerome Bourgeois, L.I.A.M. Productions, to be an assistant camera operator for the GI Film Festival, which takes place every year here in DC. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. I met celebrities, such as Gary Sinese, Ricky Schroder, and Captain Dale Dye and saw many well made films by talented filmmakers. Thanks Jerome, hope to work with you again soon! Pictures coming soon.

The month of June was a great month :-)

On June 27th, Christen and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary in Nags Head, NC. The best part of the weekend was sitting on the deck, listening to the sounds of the ocean, and of course getting to eat the top part of our wedding cake :-) Vanilla, yum! None of my success with STJ would have been possible without the support and encouragement of Christen! I am so lucky to be married to my best friend!

In STJ world, I was hired by Pendragwn Productions to run sound for an interview at an architecture firm and a conference. Thanks to Michael Skinner and Jon Michael Shink for having me on their crew! Later in the month, I ran sound for Ian Bloom, a DP in NYC, on the RED One camera in Maryland. It’s a documentary about his family, particularly his grandfather. Best of luck to you Ian on the film! And, lastly, aside from the interview with Buzz Aldrin, running sound for an interview with Brad Garrett was the most exhilarating experience. The interview was conducted by David Stott, Match Productions, and Michael Schreiber for a documentary about a famous acting coach Adam Hill, titled You Got The Job.

Hello family and friends,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and are ready for 2010. I am writing everyone to inform you all about a very special project that I have been in pre-production for a while now. It is very dear to my heart.

Since the passing of my mom over 2 years ago, I have been deciding how to bring together an array of stories from everyone who knew her and the first idea that came to my mind was to write a book. But I wanted to also incorporate home videos and pictures and the best way I decided to go about it is to make a documentary.

I am writing you all to ask for your help. I know so many of you were dear and close to my mom’s heart and I would love to sit down and interview you. Also, if you have any special pictures with her or videos (with your permission), I would love to include those as well. As I have realized, she made such an impact on people’s lives and I would love to hear how and in what way she impacted you.

Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Proctor Trivette

I want to inform current clients and potential clients that I have a NEW service that is being offered. It is DVD / CD professional printing. The example below is from a play that I recently filmed called Camille, which was performed by the Washington Shakespeare Company.

Extra information — the brand used is Taiyo Yuden, it’s a Japanese company that produces these outstanding printable DVD’s (one of the top brands on the market). Also, in the picture is a clear slim DVD case that is available. It is half the size of a regular DVD case, which allows for greater space utilization and can safely hold 2 standard size DVD’s or CD’s. A clear slim DVD case that holds 1 standard DVD or CD is also available.

As you may have already noticed, the website is being updated quite frequently with new services and navigation. Since filming in NYC in August, I have been involved in many great productions and projects. Towards the end of August, I was the sound mixer on the set of the short film Choices, directed by Tanecia Britt. It was a great experience and met a lot of talented people.

Since the middle of August, I have been working towards becoming an Apple Master Certified Pro in Final Cut Studio. I’ve been taking classes from a company called Future Media Concepts here in DC. It’s been an exciting experience so far, learning more than I ever imagined. I would highly recommend taking classes from there if you are interested, the instructors are fantastic and they have offices not only in DC, but in Boston, New York, and many more.

At the end of September, I filmed the play Camille at the Washington Shakespeare Companyand am in the process of finishing up the DVD’s. The play was a great success and featured many talented actors! Big thanks to Jay!

Also, just the other week I finished putting together a slideshow for a very nice family. It’s was for their son’s Bar Mitzvah, which I will be filming tomorrow night and creating a DVD for them as well.

Wedding updates — On October 3rd I had the pleasure of filming Meagan and Cameron’s wedding in Bowling Green. It was so much fun and they looked so happy! I have to add, their son, Coby, is adorable!

Many more weddings to come in the future, which I am very excited about!

Next weekend I’m off to NYC again, but this time for the National Film Challenge. I will be working again with long time friend, David Stott, as the sound mixer / recordist. Stay tuned…

Long time friend, David Stott, director, and myself, D.P., worked alongside many great actors and crew members on a pilot webisode in New York City. My brother, Alex, joined along for the ride up to NYC and was an amazing P.A. and sound assistant.

It was shot on the Canon 5D Mark II, which continues to exceed my expectations. It truly is becoming the new up and coming camera for filmmakers.

Thank you to everyone who made this shoot such a wonderful experience and I hope to work together with all of you in the near future!
